“Many clinic owners understand that they need to market their
practice. But at the same time, they think that all of their problems will be fixed if they just sort out their marketing. And to a certain point, getting good at marketing does solve a lot of problems. But the reality is that getting good at marketing also brings other problems, such as getting more inquiries from people who have questions that need answering
before they book.

If your marketing is doing its job, then you have the potential for more patients on your schedule, but you still have to do something to earn it. You have to sell.

You can call it selling the value, selling your services, selling your worth, or selling yourself. They’re all the same and all that matters is that someone at your practice is doing it in a way that makes leads feel confident about taking the next step with you. Someone has to be talking to the potential patient so that their concerns and questions are addressed. If they don’t do it, you won’t get the effect you want—the conversion to paying patient.

This lack of understanding of the difference between marketing and selling is just one of the many reasons why so many physical therapists struggle when it comes to selling. In no particular order, here’s another seven reasons why private practice owners struggle with selling to patients. How many are happening to you?”
