True Story – take notes:<\/p>\n

A few years back now I reached a level in my \u201cincome\u201d that ECLIPSED almost all of the doctors that I USED to rely upon for referrals.<\/p>\n

I was just<\/strong> \u201c26\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n

Aged 26 and earning yearly, twice as much as most of the doctors (who were sending me referrals) ever could in their entire career.<\/p>\n

Think about that for a moment…<\/p>\n

Is it any wonder that I was \u201csuddenly\u201d met with resentment to my asking for referrals??<\/p>\n

Of course not.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing:<\/p>\n

\"Why<\/a>
\nIt was an amazing day in my life when I realized that the same guy who THINKS he\u2019s cleverer\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026who THINKS he\u2019s more valuable in society\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and who THINKS that I need him to survive\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026earns less money than I do!<\/p>\n

But it was also the day I realized WHY many doctors resent PT\u2019s like you and I.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s because as small business owners, we\u2019re the MASTER of our own destiny.<\/p>\n

No corporate ladder to climb.<\/p>\n

No \u201c5 years\u201d of service to get the next pay rise.<\/p>\n

No \u201cpartners\u201d to ask when we want to reward ourselves with a nice little bonus or extended period of time on vacation.<\/p>\n

Most doctors have a ceiling on their salary and a limit to their vacation time.<\/p>\n

(And that REALLY irritates them because after all of the study, they’re still STUCK!<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

So then\u2026<\/p>\n

Can you imagine how these same doctors felt about a \u201c26\u201d year old physical therapist pulling into their car park of their office one day in his black \u201cPorsche 911\u201d, Carrera S4, with the sun roof down, dark sun glasses on and my favourite Cd playing my favourite songs, LOUD??<\/p>\n

A \u201cthreat\u201d perhaps??<\/p>\n

A threat to their \u201cego\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026a threat to their \u201cpride\u201d and their \u201cself worth\u201d?<\/p>\n

All of the above.<\/p>\n

See, doctors, they\u2019re smart people.<\/p>\n

And are FULLY aware that if you really wanted to, you REALLY could make a lot more money than them.<\/p>\n

And they don’t want<\/strong> that to happen.<\/p>\n

So what they\u2019ll do is every now and again play a few games with you – just to ensure they stay in control.<\/p>\n

When they think you\u2019re getting a bit “too big for your boots” – that you\u2019ve had a few too many referrals recently, they\u2019ll find ANY excuse to limit the referrals to your clinic – even if just for a short period of time.<\/p>\n

They want you to do \u201cok\u201d – but not \u201ctoo well” as the money is supposed to flow UP (to them) and not DOWN (to you).<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll invite you to buy them lunch\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026further \u201cexercising\u201d their power and control over you and you life\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026they\u2019ll build your hopes with promises of referrals – but then fail to deliver them (JUST so that you call back and ask \u201cis everything ok\u2026\u201d OR, \u201cdid I do something wrong\u201d)…<\/p>\n

FURTHER enhancing their grip on you and your life.<\/p>\n

And of course, they\u2019ll be nice to your face.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll tell their secretary to call you back and tell you \u201cnot to worry\u201d because there \u201cjust hasn\u2019t been any referrals to send you recently\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

BUT REALLY, what they\u2019re doing is reminding you that YOU need them\u2026<\/p>\n

And that makes them feel instantly POWERFUL and far more IMPORTANT than you.<\/p>\n

Because after all, medical school (and society) told them that\u2019s the way it was supposed to be.<\/p>\n

The way to end the turmoil (of relying upon doctors) you\u2019re likely living with?<\/p>\n

Two ways:<\/p>\n

1. Like me, make the \u201cmistake\u201d of pulling into the doctors office with the top down (and system up) in your back Porsche 911 Carrera.<\/p>\n

Or,<\/p>\n

2. Learn to \u201cMarket\u201d directly to the consumer and create an INFINITELY HIGHER ceiling on your earning potential (than them) – that\u2019ll mean you never have to call their offices again.<\/p>\n

I did both.<\/p>\n

The choice is yours.<\/p>\n

Pick number \u201c2\u201d and you\u2019ll quickly get to number \u201c1\u201d as well.<\/p>\n
