As I write to you I\u2019m sat in a coffee shop in \u201cMelbourne\u201d, South Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cColdplay\u201d, playing on the radio over my right shoulder.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same coffee shop I wrote the final words of my first book \u201cThe Healthy Habit\u201d, precisely this time last year\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and it\u2019s the same coffee shop that I\u2019m writing the early words of my new book, that\u2019ll be published early next year.<\/p>\n

The relevance to you??<\/p>\n

Let me explain:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just last week I held a live, global video seminar with all of the PT Owners in my coaching program.<\/p>\n

(There\u2019s \u201c32\u201d of them now).<\/p>\n

As part of the program I bring in guests from OUTSIDE of the PT industry to talk to everyone about the other things that business owners need to be more successful.<\/p>\n

This time I hired in one of the worlds best motivational speakers<\/strong> – \u201cJames Ashford\u201d – to talk to us all about \u201cgoal setting and planning for higher profits in 2016 and beyond\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And on the call, James asked everyone what their goal was of 2016.<\/p>\n

The typical answer, went something like this:<\/p>\n

===<\/p>\n

* \u201cGet 50 patients per week\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

* \u201cTo get 200 patients per week\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

And for one guy,<\/p>\n

* \u201cTo open 3 more clinics\u201d!<\/p>\n

===<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing I had to point out:<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not what they REALLY want to achieve in 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just what they NEED to do,
\nto get what they really WANT\u201d.<\/p>\n

Does that make sense??<\/p>\n

See, none of us lie awake at night dreaming about another \u201c50\u201d patients coming through the doors this week\u2026<\/p>\n

No.<\/p>\n

What we do dream about, is what we would DO, if they DID!<\/p>\n

(Such as take an extended trip to South Australia\u2026)<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the real reason WHY we want those extra patients and is what you must first figure out \u2026 and then focus on\u2026 if your goals are to be achieved.<\/p>\n

To be more successful in business, it\u2019s easier if you start AT THE END.<\/p>\n

Think about \u201cWHY\u201d you want those extra 50 patients per week next year, anyway\u2026<\/p>\n

What difference would it make to the quality of yours and your families lifestyle??<\/p>\n

When you know that\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and you can FEEL that\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026it becomes a LOT easier to tackle all of the things you\u2019re going to need to do, to get there.<\/p>\n

(Like, invest some of your time and money in learning the rules of \u201cdirect response marketing\u201d).<\/p>\n

Most business owners are about to go head long into another years worth of struggle and frustration\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026waking up each day wondering why they\u2019re not achieving their goal of \u201cX\u201d number of patients – not really sure why they\u2019re even in business in the first place.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be starting the year thinking about my *travel plans*.<\/p>\n

And, creating *systems*<\/strong> that\u2019ll let me spend 5 months of 2016 out of the UK and with my family, looking for more swing parks for my boy \u201cHarry\u201d – and sun drenched coffee shops for me, sharpening my authors pencil (as I sip on my extra hot, no-foam Latte), knowing that my business is funding it all for me.<\/p>\n

Is there any other reason to be a small business owner??<\/p>\n

Anyhoo\u2026<\/p>\n

I have every faith that if you find your reason \u201cWHY\u201d, you could achieve it too.<\/p>\n
