Story time:<\/p>\n

Saturday<\/span><\/span> night it was my clinics \u201cstaff christmas party\u201d.<\/p>\n

And as well as staff, I invite friends, family and anyone else who contributes to the success of the clinic.<\/p>\n

So I invited a guy who works with small businesses all over the world – mine included – helping to motivate staff, align core values and generally implement all of the things that most businesses over look (and rarely ever want to pay for), even though they are vital to success and growth.<\/p>\n

Over a \u201cbeer\u201d, we got talking about the \u201ctension\u201d that can so often build with doing something that YOU feel as though is amazing\u2026 could REALY help someone\u2026 but no one else seems to agree or care as much as you.<\/p>\n

\"Fall<\/a><\/p>\n

An e.g?<\/p>\n

Like spending hours and hours – maybe even days – creating a new advert promoting your amazing PT services<\/p>\n

OR –<\/p>\n

Creating a \u201cback pain pain workshop\u201d campaign that YOU think is so helpful and so wonderful – and is 100% going to help people with back pain\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026but the phone doesn\u2019t ring!<\/p>\n

Ever had that happen to you??<\/p>\n

Guess what?<\/p>\n

\u201cMe too\u201d.<\/p>\n

And, it USED to get me all tense, tight and even \u201cangst\u201d from the very first day we put the ad out right up until the *minutes * before the workshop was set to start.<\/p>\n

I used to take it personally.<\/p>\n

Even tell\u00a0myself:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I had back pain, I\u2019d be<\/p>\n

calling my clinic\u00a0if I saw my ad\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Ever done that??<\/p>\n

(Me too).<\/p>\n

That was until I switch from worrying about the end result\u2026<\/p>\n

..to \u201cfalling in LOVE with the process\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I realised that if I just did more good things, more often – and I followed the laws science of direct response marketing, *every time* – I\u2019d win in the end.<\/p>\n

Which means that instead of getting all tight and angst about one single advert or marketing campaign\u2026.<\/p>\n

\u2026I judge the success of my \u201clabour\u201d over a longer period of time.<\/p>\n

Like 12 months.<\/p>\n

So when I sit and grab a \u201cbeer\u201d with my colleagues and I look pretty happy with the way the last 12 months has gone – that\u2019s the reason why.<\/p>\n

Have I had some \u201cfailures\u201d over the last 12 months?<\/p>\n

Of course.<\/p>\n

Did I keep going?<\/p>\n

Absolutely!<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because I\u2019m engaged in the PROCESS of creating those ads and campaigns – regardless of what the public think about them.<\/p>\n

If people don\u2019t want to respond to THAT ad, that\u2019s cool.<\/p>\n

No biggie.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m 99% sure they will next time.<\/p>\n

After all, I know better than them that their \u201cdaily, annoying, chronic lower back pain\u201d, isn\u2019t going anywhere.<\/p>\n

(They just didn\u2019t know that when they saw my ad! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
