but acquiring a patient who will want to <strong>buy from you forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a common thought pattern amongst PT clinic owners (especially those just starting out, myself included when I first began my journey)\u2026<\/p>\n<p>To think <strong><em>\u2018new patients, new patients\u2019<\/em> <\/strong>is the sole focus when growing your business.<\/p>\n<p>But the thing is, as you do a million things to try and grow your practice, do you ever stop to think about the value of your <strong>existing and past patients?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As PT owners, we often focus most of our attention on new patients and their acquisition while overlooking the needs and value of returning clients &#8211; the very people who help us <strong>REALLY build our profits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of course, flooding your clinic with more new patients is important for business too\u2026 but when we\u2019re faced with statistics that state &#8211; successful businesses with 40% repeat customers generate 50% more revenue than businesses with only 10% repeat customers\u2026 it\u2019s clear that returning patients are the foundation of a profitable PT clinic.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">How Can You Turn Past Patients Into Returning Customers?<\/h1>\n<p>It\u2019s all about the <strong>systems and marketing strategies<\/strong> you have in place in your clinic to transform a \u2018one-time\u2019 patient, into a \u2018life-long\u2019 client.<\/p>\n<p>I spent the last year systemising my PT clinics so that everything is focused around getting a patient to buy from me for life (and not just become another future \u2018no-show\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>Having these systems set up in your practice means that you can keep in touch with people <strong>forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And the best thing about returning patients? There\u2019s <strong>no acquisition costs,<\/strong> they\u2019re likely to <strong>spend MORE<\/strong> with us over time and happy patients will <strong>rave about your services<\/strong> to friends and family too.<\/p>\n<p>So what made me realize this?<\/p>\n<p>When I first started out, my number of new patients vs. returning patients looked like this:<\/p>\n<p><strong>9 new patients, 1 returning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whilst 9 new patients is still making me money, <strong>what happened to the other 8 that never returned?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And they didn\u2019t NOT come back a second time because we weren\u2019t delivering a great service\u2026 the problem was that we weren\u2019t giving them reason to come again. Not only that, but we weren\u2019t making it EASY for them to come back for more either.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How Can You Make Them Return?<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Let me begin by telling you what the typical business owner says:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur patients come back and see us\u2026 Our clinic exists and relies upon the patients who come back and see us again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But what I most commonly hear business owners say when I ask &#8211; <em>\u201cHow do you make people come back and see you?\u201d<\/em> is:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNothing! People just pick up the phone and make another appointment!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, that\u2019s <strong>just luck.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ptprofitacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/New-Patients-Vs.-Past-Patients-Who-Is-More-Important-.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-856 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ptprofitacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/New-Patients-Vs.-Past-Patients-Who-Is-More-Important-.png\" alt=\"New Patients Vs.
