This question came in from an Owner I spoke to on a Strategy Call recently:<\/p>\n

==<\/p>\n

\u201cHow do you handle the challenges of trying to be a father and a business owner?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Finding it a struggle to manage and take care of my kid, run a full time business, work a part time job and be a husband.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Any advice?\u201d \u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

===<\/p>\n

I could give you two answers.<\/p>\n

One would be the \u201ctheoretical\u201d answer – the \u201cBS\u201d type answer that you likely want to hear\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cGet better at time management, organize more, delegate, sleep less, switch your phone off, stop going on F\u2019book or using social media for anything other than to advance business or connect with clients, stop watching TV and rarely read any newspapers\u2026<\/p>\n

All of which I do.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the REAL way you find time in your life to run a small business.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"null-6\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In my honest, very humble opinion, it comes down to this:<\/p>\n

1.) Discipline<\/strong><\/p>\n

And,<\/p>\n

2.) Self-belief.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cdiscipline\u201d to use the time wealth that you create from side stepping things like watching the TV or playing on Facebook.<\/p>\n

And the \u201cbelief\u201d<\/strong> is that if you use that new found time more wisely, it absolutely will impact your life in a positive way.<\/p>\n

And if you pushed me on it\u2026<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the \u201cbelief\u201d that is the key to success.<\/strong><\/p>\n

See, I think what holds so many people back from getting things like marketing systems in place, writing blog posts, sending emails, writing books, or giving up any time to work on their business is this\u2026<\/p>\n

…that UNLIKE when a patient schedules an appointment, they\u2019re not 100% CERTAIN in the outcome<\/strong> – of getting paid<\/span>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s as if they\u2019re too emotionally attached to the outcome thinking – \u201cis this the best use of my time?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

So, the way to get round all of that \u201cdoubt\u201d\u2026 is to ask your self this question:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat if what I\u2019m about to do couldn\u2019t fail but would bring in the desired out come\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I.e attract more patients to my practice, grow my revenue etc.<\/p>\n

\u2026would I find the time to do it?<\/p>\n

The answer is mostly YES you would<\/strong> (\u2026find the time) because you\u2019d be 100% sure of the \u201ctrade off\u201d you were about to make.<\/p>\n

So, I put it to you that most of the time it\u2019s not a question of a \u201clack of time\u201d<\/strong> to get things done\u2026<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the fear of what you do choose to do, failing\u2026 that actually stops you from doing it!<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a big difference.<\/p>\n

Massive difference.<\/p>\n

One more thing:<\/p>\n

Most UNSUCCESSFUL people have to see results BEFORE they make decisions.<\/p>\n

Yet, go and study the REALLY successful ones\u2026<\/p>\n

Those are the guys who trust their better judgement\u2026 and themselves\u2026 and do it regardless, all the time knowing something good is more than likely to come their way.<\/p>\n

And you know what else?\u2026<\/p>\n

Before the results of what they just did even come in, they\u2019re off and on to creating something else.<\/p>\n

And so the cycle of success continues.<\/p>\n

Google \u201cminutiae\u201d\u2026 and you might get a very short and precise definition of why most PT owners never get to where they should be, with their business.<\/p>\n

Anyhoo\u2026<\/p>\n
