height: 24px;\"><\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                \n\n<div class=\"kksr-legend\" style=\"font-size: 19.2px;\">\n            <span class=\"kksr-muted\">Rate this post<\/span>\n    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<p>There I was watching watching \u201cShark Tank\u201d last night\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a show I love to watch (and learn from). <\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019m NOT interested in the \u201centertainment\u201d value of the show like most\u2026<\/p>\n<p>No, I\u2019m watching it with the sole purpose of listening to the types of questions the \u201cSharks\u201d ask BEFORE they ever consider investing in an idea or business. <\/p>\n<p>I consider those questions to be like \u201cclues\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Indicators of what multi-million dollar, hugely wealthy business owners consider vital to a successful business. <\/p>\n<p>And of all of the guys on the show, \u201cKevin O\u2019Leary\u201d is the one I\u2019m listening out for the most. <\/p>\n<p>I like his style. <\/p>\n<p>No-nonsense, tells it like it is\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>And never holds back from asking the questions that need to be asked to ensure that he\u2019s about to make the right decision &#8211; whether that be making an \u201coffer\u201d, or yelling \u201cI\u2019m out!\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>And one of the questions \u201cKevin\u201d asks almost every time, is this:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s your marketing plan?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s as if he needs to know that before he\u2019ll go any further. <\/p>\n<p>Meaning, I don\u2019t care how good of an idea you have\u2026 or think you have\u2026 if you don\u2019t have a plan to take this to market &#8211; \u201cI want out!\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s because he knows that there\u2019s a lot more to a product or service than just thinking you\u2019re good and that people should buy from you. <\/p>\n<p>(Doesn\u2019t work that way in any industry). <\/p>\n<p>The significance for PT\u2019s?\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>I see many clinic owners placing the future of their business in jeopardy by thinking that their service is the \u201cbest\u201d PT in town \u2026and that will be enough.<\/p>\n<p>(If only).  <\/p>\n<p>Bad news is, it doesn\u2019t work that way. <\/p>\n<p>No way. <\/p>\n<p>In fact, I find thinking this way is almost always an attempt to   hide from the harsh reality that they need a real marketing plan, to go any further.  <\/p>\n<p>Now\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>The owners who are great at service delivery, they usually do \u201cok\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They get by\u2026  <\/p>\n<p>Make a nice profit for the first few years or so but then what happens is profits begin to \u201cflatline\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s the biggest indicator that there\u2019s \u201cno marketing plan\u201d in place at a PT clinic. <\/p>\n<p>And when that happens &#8211; it\u2019s a sign the owner has exhausted all of the \u201cready to buy now\u201d patients and is essentially living day by day, \u2019hand to mouth\u2019 &#8211; hoping and praying that enough people will go an see their doctors to get a referral TODAY!  <\/p>\n<p>But the ones who get to the Next Level &#8211; and stay there &#8211; are the ones that recognise what\u2019s going on\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>A ceiling has been hit. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it!<\/p>\n<p>And what ever worked in the past to get to that ceiling\u2026 isn\u2019t going to get them to the next one.<\/p>\n<p>Enter \u201cLead Generation\u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a *marketing plan* that creates a pipeline of potential patients who are \u201cinterested\u201d and looking for a \u201csolution\u201d, but NOT ready to \u201cbuy right now\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But, if your \u201cmarketing plan\u201d consists of finding and then providing that person with more information to help them make a better decision about PT &#8211;
