height: 24px;\"><\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n                \n\n<div class=\"kksr-legend\" style=\"font-size: 19.2px;\">\n            <span class=\"kksr-muted\">Rate this post<\/span>\n    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<p>Let me tell you a short story:<\/p>\n<p>So through the week I caught up (on Skype) with an owner from Philadelphia &#8211; Chad Madden of \u201cMadden PT\u201d (and founder of Breakthrough PT Marketing). <\/p>\n<p>(Hi\u2026 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>And as we yapped about things like \u201clead generation\u201d, \u201cpast patient re-activation\u201d even, \u201cevery door direct mail\u201d ideas\u2026 we got round to discussing what it was that would REALLY define the contribution to the PT industry, that both of us could make.  <\/p>\n<p>And he told me a story about a baseball player from the 50\u2019s named \u201cTed Williams\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>I was fascinated by it. <\/p>\n<p>How, back in the day when \u201cTed\u201d was at his peak, even his closest rival \u2014 \u201cJoe Dimaggio\u201d \u2014 had good things to say about him, giving him the title of \u201cthe greatest hitter who ever lived on\u201d.  <\/p>\n<p>And it got me thinking about what my own competitors might say about me, back in the UK. <\/p>\n<p>In a round about way\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d guess they\u2019d all say something like:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPaul Gough, oh yeah, he\u2019s great at marketing his business &#8211; always has been.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And I suspect many of them may say that to make themselves feel a little bit better\u2026<\/p>\n<p>To justify my success as an owner as, \u201cinevitable\u201d, because I am \u201cgood at marketing\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>And they\u2019ll do that to avoid the obvious \u201cdissonance\u201d (headaches!) that would surely come if any of them considered the fact that the success I\u2019ve had has arrived simply besause of time spent learning two specific skill sets. <\/p>\n<p>1.) Marketing. <\/p>\n<p>2.) Sales.<\/p>\n<p>As well as studying EXTENSIVELY how the human brain works, why and how people are motivated \u2014 and a relentless study of how to write persuasive \u201ccopy\u201d\u2026 aka the words I need to write, and in what order, to get people to take the action I\u2019m hoping for to put more people on treatment beds at my clinic\u2026 and how all that fits in to the overall strategy my business uses to dominate in my towns (\u201cLead Generation\u201d!). <\/p>\n<p>But they don\u2019t see that. <\/p>\n<p>I guess they\u2019ll think that this \u201cmarketing thing\u201d somehow comes naturally to me \u2014 and that I have some kind of unfair advantage over them. <\/p>\n<p>(If only they could see how much I\u2019ve spent on courses, attending seminars all across the US, coaching bills, mastermind groups and how many hours I\u2019ve lost in my life to jet lag, plus time I\u2019ve missed out on with my boy \u201cHarry\u201d, etc etc etc\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>See, the thing with getting good at finding more patients (from direct access)\u2026 there\u2019s no way to just \u201cdip your toe in the water\u201d and do a \u201cbit here\u201d, and a \u201cbit there\u201d \u2014 still trying to be a great practitioner. <\/p>\n<p>No. <\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve got go \u201call in\u201d\u2026 and make a decision to be better at it \u2014 better than you are at diagnosing injuries or crafting \u201c12 visit, $1200 value care plans\u201d\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>And to speed it up, you\u2019ve got to get someone to show you how to do it. <\/p>\n<p>And yes, that absolutely DOES mean investing time and money into it. <\/p>\n<p>Ain\u2019t no other way. <\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019ll be a life long, continual process, too. <\/p>\n<p>You do CPD to fine tune your PT skills, right?\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Well, I do the same for my marketing skills\u2026<\/p>\n<p>See, I continue to sharpen my pencil to the tune of spending at least 1\/3 of my day\u2026 everyday\u2026 learning more about \u201csales\u201d and \u201cmarketing\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>What I do with the other two thirds of my day? <\/p>\n<p>Easy\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>IMPLEMENT what I learn. <\/p>\n<p>Helping to boost yet MORE sales at my own clinic \u2014 and at the clinics if the owners all across the USA who hire me to do it for them, too. <\/p>\n<p>So here\u2019s my BIG question to you:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat would other owners say about you\u201d?\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Would it be that you\u2019re a great practitioner\u2026 \u201cif only you could get a few more patients through the door\u201d? <\/p>\n<p>OR,<\/p>\n<p>Would it be that your business is relying far too heavily on referrals from doctors \u2014 referrals that are soon to \u201cdry up\u201d as more and more large hospital systems look to dominate in small towns like yours? <\/p>\n<p>OR,<\/p>\n<p>Would it be that they say you\u2019re just an old round nice person, and GLAD to have you as a competitor!?\u2026<\/p>\n<p>(Think about the implications of what they last one really means\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, last thing:<\/p>\n<p>If any of those three statements are true about you and your business, and you want some help to move away from that less-wealthy place\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Then why don\u2019t we talk? <\/p>\n<p>I can help you automate your sales and marketing using good old fashioned, direct response marketing that I\u2019ve made work in my own clinic\u2026<\/p>\n<p>And &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>At the clinics of owners in places like Orange County (Ca), Wake County (NC), Rochester Hills (MI), Centre City (Pa), Scotsdale (AZ)\u2026 and many more places in between. <\/p>\n<p>Assuming that you\u2019re not in direct competition with any of my clients\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I can talk to you about THE best ways to get more patients to refer to you through direct access and specifically, how to automate the whole thing so that you CAN, if you wish, spend more time in the treatment room helping more people with your PT skills and doing more of what you\u2019re already, very good at. <\/p>\n<p>Give me the nod that you\u2019re ready to take your business to the next level, by filling out this short form:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ptprofitacademy.com\/strategy\" target=\"_blank\">www.PtProfitAcademy.com\/strategy >>><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cheerio for now. <\/p>\n<p>Paul Gough <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let me tell you a short story: So through the week I caught up (on Skype) with an owner from Philadelphia &#8211; Chad Madden of \u201cMadden PT\u201d (and founder of Breakthrough PT Marketing).
