\u201cPaul, who does your website?\u201d<\/p>\n

My answer? <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a secret!\u201d<\/p>\n

(Something I only ever reveal to my private coaching members). <\/p>\n

But lets talk about why people always ask me. <\/p>\n

It has to be because they\u2019re not satisfied with their own. <\/p>\n

Hardly surprising given the number of pt\u2019s in America who have paid out a lot of cash for a website – often managed by some big online company for which they continue pay a monthly fee – and yet they see very few enquires coming in from it. <\/p>\n

At least, not as many as they would like!<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s what I\u2019d say on the website thing:<\/p>\n

If I gave you the name of my webmaster (I call him \u201cgeeky Dave\u201d), really, it wouldn\u2019t make any difference to you. <\/p>\n

Because, like most web masters, he knows nothing about \u201cdirect response marketing\u201d. <\/p>\n

(He\u2019ll admit that, too). <\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing. <\/p>\n

He doesn\u2019t need too. <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause I do\u201d. <\/p>\n

And so anything that you see on any of my websites, it\u2019s been designed by me. <\/p>\n

Often on a scrap piece of paper, even the back of a beer mat, and sent to him with clear instructions of how I want the page to look\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026what I want it to say\u2026<\/p>\n

And most importantly of all, what I want the visitor to do as a result of being on that page. <\/p>\n

i.e. fill out a form., request a free report, call a special number etc etc etc. <\/p>\n

Anyway:<\/p>\n

The cure to an under performing website is NOT just jumping ship to ANOTHER webmaster. <\/p>\n

Reality is, they\u2019re all much the same. <\/p>\n

And (unless you tell them to do anything different), will just produce a website that sure, LOOKS pretty, but fails to compel people to respond or take action. <\/p>\n

(The SOLE reason for having it it up there in the first place). <\/p>\n

Having a pretty website with no reason to respond or take action would be a lot like walking into an Apple store with no one to answer your questions or tills to take your money – you\u2019re just going to walk right out and go somewhere else that can. <\/p>\n

All right. <\/p>\n

The key to having a profitable website is just this one thing:<\/p>\n

It has to follow the rules of \u201cdirect response marketing\u201d. <\/p>\n

Something that very few (if any) web masters will ever understand. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s just how it be. <\/p>\n

Better to learn it for yourself. <\/p>\n
