So I am on the road again\u2026<\/p>\n

It is Day \u201c1\u201d of my \u201d51\u201d day Fall Tour<\/strong> that is taking me via London to 6 different cities – first Central, then East and West Coast of the US.<\/p>\n

I love Day 1 of these Tours.<\/p>\n

A little sad to be without the kids for the first 6 days – but at the same time, I am loaded with anticipation for what is ahead\u2026<\/p>\n

I keep thinking:<\/p>\n

Who will I meet?<\/p>\n

What will I see?<\/p>\n

And most importantly, what will I learn?<\/p>\n

I sit here in the Renaissance Hotel, Downtown Cleveland – having flown in this morning on a short – but rather \u201cturbulent\u201d – flight from Chicago, with United\u2026<\/p>\n

It is the eve of a 3-Day Marketing Event that I am a guest at and I am loaded with anticipation of what I might learn – that could help me improve my business (and yours, indirectly).<\/p>\n

But even before I attend the \u201cofficial\u201d event – I\u2019ve already learned something\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yesterday, I turned the seat (61-K) – on the \u201c9\u201d hour flight to O\u2019Hare Airport into a classroom\u2026<\/p>\n

In one ear – I had my audio books playing – and in the other hand, my monthly subscription business success magazines that I scan through looking for any gem that I can find.<\/p>\n

Want me to share one with you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ok, here goes – write this one down:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPeople do NOT want the thing that you are \u201cselling\u201d\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

(\u2026i.e., the \u201cPT\u201d). <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat they want, is the WAY OF LIFE THAT IT GIVES them\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

(101 Sales and Marketing).<\/p>\n

They want independence, freedom, mobility and increased activity free from pills and worry\u2026<\/p>\n

Why then, do so many PT’s resort to things like \u201ccredentials\u201d, \u201cexperience\u201d, \u201cqualifications\u201d and \u201ctreatment techniques\u201d when trying to answer the no.1 burning question that every customer of any business needs answering:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy should I do business with you?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Is it because we have never been shown how to “sell”? – Most likely.<\/p>\n

Here’s the major learning:<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you know how to communicate with people in a way that resonates with the life that they want – AFTER they have consumed your service – then you really do have the keys to the proverbial \u201cVault\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

Better said:<\/p>\n

If one of your biggest challenges is converting people who ask \u201cdo you take my insurance?\u201d – when you don\u2019t\u2026<\/p>\n

Then this little gem should assist you as handling that particular question requires a little deeper skill-set than just telling them:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, BUT……. \u201d – and hoping for the best!<\/strong><\/p>\n
