So I\u2019m sat in the departure lounge of San Diego Airport\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026hoping that my short 47 minute flight with \u201cSpirit\u201d will actually take off on time – and that I don\u2019t get yet ANOTHER email from them in a few hours to say \u201cwe are sorry for the delay\u201d and offer me a $50 credit off my next flight with them!<\/p>\n

(Has happened a few times to me already lol \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Anyhow\u2026<\/p>\n

It\u2019s day 18\/48<\/strong> of the Tour<\/strong><\/a>– and I\u2019m flying in to give a talk later today on \u201cLead Generation\u201d at the Jeff Moore\/Jerry Durham Patient Experience Event happening this weekend\u2026<\/p>\n

I have “4” hours to talk on this subject\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and interestingly enough, I\u2019m only planning on talking on it for about 60 minutes.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because before I can teach the HOW – it\u2019s important to teach the WHY.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As in, WHY is Lead Generation Marketing so important to PTs NOW??<\/strong><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s a fundamental aspect of ANYTHING that involves asking people do things – that is important to know and understand.<\/p>\n

For example: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Before you tell me about your amazing treatment plan – tell me why I need it<\/strong> (\u2026 don’t take for granted that just because I am in your treatment room I know why I need you..)<\/p>\n

Before you put out \u201c5 Exercises for Achilles Pain\u201d on Youtube – tell me why I need to do them in the first place\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before you teach your staff a new way to answer the phone – tell them why the old one wont work any more…<\/strong><\/p>\n

And so on and so on.<\/p>\n

Failing to TEACH THE WHY is a big reason so many people don\u2019t get done – what they try to get done.<\/p>\n

The reason oh so many people do not teach the why?..<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> A lack of understanding of how people actually make decisions<\/p>\n

And,<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> A ‘perceived’ lack of time in how \u201cbusy\u201d our lives are that we feel that we have to spend more time focusing on the HOW.<\/p>\n

Could this be one of the reasons why so many business owners keep running in circles – never quite getting the outcome that the HOW they are teaching promises?\u2026<\/p>\n

Maybe.<\/p>\n

Ok, so I gotta\u2019 dash – looks like we are out on time.<\/p>\n
