“WOW”!<\/p>\n

So what a great weekend we had here in “San Diego”\u2026<\/p>\n

I held another \u201cMeet Up\u201d<\/strong> – this time on the gorgeous Island of \u201cCoronado\u201d – and San Diego PTs did.not disappoint\u2026<\/p>\n

We had a table full of the best PTs (…and one very welcome Chiropractor) at the Hotel Del Coronado – some had travelled for miles to join us – and many made the most of the famous \u201cchampagne cocktails\u201d on offer at sunset…<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a photo that sums up the evening:<\/p>\n

Now, what I love about doing these \u201cmeet ups\u201d is that I get chance to sit face-to-face with you – my community – and the conversation is always so much more REAL when that happens\u2026<\/p>\n

And as I reflect on these evenings the next day, I always look for a stand-out conversation that I can share with you\u2026<\/p>\n

And on this occasion, I think it was the one, RE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cMarketing for The CrossFit Open\u201d\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2026which was kick-started by my latest Podcast in which I shared with you a snippet from my recent 3-Day Marketing Workshop in San Antonio<\/a><\/p>\n

In it, I spoke about the big-mistake that so many make<\/strong> when it comes to trying to Market to this community at this time of the year\u2026<\/p>\n

What mistake??<\/p>\n

\u201cTo shoot from the hip\u201d\u2026<\/strong> as they say!<\/p>\n

Meaning, that in response to an impending event – such as the CrossFit Open – a PT realizes that he\/she should be \u201cdoing something\u201d – anything – to Market to this audience to try to get some business!<\/p>\n

The result?:<\/p>\n

Often, very little.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And nothing happens simply because there is NO PLAN.<\/p>\n

Just a somewhat \u201cbodged\u201d attempt to put out some content in the week before and hope that it catches the eye of enough athletes interested.<\/p>\n

And sure, it might.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not going to catch the eye of ENOUGH to justify the activity\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Better to PLAN it, 3 months in advance\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and create your content and ads according to the \u201cplace” and “state” that the CrossFit Athlete is in, during the run up to the event – and then after.<\/p>\n

For example:<\/strong><\/p>\n

* In January:<\/strong> the content\/ads should reflect that the Athlete is in \u201cserious training\u201d mode and you may wish to provide advice that assists this or their speedy recovery.<\/p>\n

* In February:<\/strong> your content should reflect the fact that because so many Athletes have likely overworked your content offers \u201clast-minute\u201d injury recovery tips\u2026<\/p>\n

* And in March:<\/strong> your content reflects the fact that so many will be injured, feeling over-worked or completely burned out – and you offer advice to help them over come that.<\/p>\n

If you executed on that type of PLAN – one that builds upon its self month on month – do you think you would be more successful than all of the other PTs who will be \u201cshooting from the hip\u201d, this week??<\/p>\n

(Of course you would).<\/p>\n

The same goes for ALL your Business and Marketing decisions. <\/strong><\/p>\n

When you have a PLAN – you win.<\/p>\n

When you \u201cshoot from the hip\u201d, you miss.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s that simple.<\/strong><\/p>\n
