something that looks \u201cpretty and nice\u201d and is professionally designed &#8211; and on the face of it, is a GREAT ad for a Physical Therapy clinic\u2026<\/p>\n<p>But that\u2019s the problem.<\/p>\n<p>The ad is all about <strong>Physical Therapy and NOT about the person they can help.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Let me explain:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the main reasons why most PT clinic ads fail is simply because the ad lacks the one single thing that all great Marketing pieces must have &#8211; <strong>a clearly defined \u201cpocket of people\u201d<\/strong> who you want to pay attention to your ad!<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me onto this:<\/p>\n<h2>#2 WHO Do You Want To Do Business With?<\/h2>\n<p>You can\u2019t be successful with attracting new patients if you\u2019re trying to reach everyone, which is why you\u2019ve got to get clear on this:<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHO you want to do business with.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unless you\u2019ve got a multi-million dollar business &#8211; the real profit lies in the RELATIONSHIP you have with those people &#8211; and you BEGIN and ENHANCE that relationship with your clinic marketing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s an example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At my clinic &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulgoughphysio.com\/\">Paul Gough Physio Rooms<\/a> &#8211; we call this person our <strong>\u201cPerfect Patient\u201d,<\/strong> who comes from the HUGE pocket of people who are being overlooked by most clinics in our area\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026The huge group of people who are living with some form of pain and restriction that they need some help with, but just don\u2019t know what to do.<\/p>\n<p>Our Perfect Patient is called Mary &#8211; she\u2019s 53, has two children and 3 grandchildren, and loves to live an active lifestyle attending Pilates classes a few times a week and socializing with friends.<\/p>\n<p>So, here\u2019s something for you to think on &#8211; <em><strong>who is YOUR \u201cPerfect Patient\u201d?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>#3 Why You Need To Get Crystal Clear On Who Your \u201cPerfect Patient\u201d Is\u2026<\/h2>\n<p>The biggest area of opportunity lies within figuring out <strong>WHO is is you\u2019re talking to.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because if you don\u2019t, then you can\u2019t say the right things in your Marketing that\u2019ll get their attention and instantly tell them that you have something that they should consider paying attention to \u2013 or reading on.<\/p>\n<p>We have to be able to show them that we understand their <strong>problems and frustrations\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2026and that you\u2019re the place to go to for help to solve their problem.<\/p>\n<p>These people are likely being overlooked by other Physical Therapy clinics in your town &#8211; because so many of them are focusing on getting referrals from Doctors that they\u2019re neglecting the people who DON\u2019T get given a referral from a doctor (even though they need us).<\/p>\n<p><strong>So it\u2019s your job to help them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But how do you find those people currently being overlooked?\u2026<\/p>\n<p>By understanding this:<\/p>\n<h2>#4 Your Patients Have Three Problems<\/h2>\n<p><strong>External, Internal <\/strong>and<strong> Philosophical.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most PT\u2019s talk to people about their external problems when what they should be doing to stand out, is talk to them about <strong>INTERNAL problems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What pain are they in emotionally? What are they struggling with and missing out on because of the physical pain they\u2019re in?\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>#5 The Most Important Point To Remember When \u201cSelling Your Services\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>As a general rule, we move people AWAY from pain and loss \u2013 not towards health and happiness \u2013 which is why Marketing that promises to <em>\u201creach the peak of health\u201d<\/em>, doesn\u2019t resonate with many people or compel them to make decisions.<\/p>\n<p>People have a hard time imagining how good it feels to be happy and healthy right now when they\u2019re suffering. Move them AWAY from pain, and co-pay won\u2019t be an issue.<\/p>\n<p>Which leads me onto this\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>#6 The Real Purpose Of Your Marketing<\/h2>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve become crystal clear on WHO it is you want to do business with, and you understand them on a deeper, emotional level\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s time to <strong>show up and drop the solution to their problems &#8211; in their lap.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With my Perfect Patient at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulgoughphysio.com\/\">Paul Gough Physio Rooms<\/a>, I know that \u2018Mary\u2019 is someone who doesn\u2019t like taking pills, and doesn\u2019t want to \u2018bother\u2019 the Doctor &#8211; and yet still wants a solution to her problem that resembles her lifestyle choice.<\/p>\n<p>But the problem is, since she went to see her doctor and DIDN\u2019T get a referral (because most don\u2019t) <strong>\u2013 she\u2019s a little \u201cconfused\u201d\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>..she was told to rest, accept it, and take pills.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore if you show up and and give away free information that helps her to make a better decision &#8211; you&#8217;ll gain her trust and she&#8217;ll know that PT is the solution she&#8217;s been looking for all this time \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>But keep this in mind\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>#7 Marketing Is All About Building A Bridge<\/h2>\n<p>The rules of small business advertising <strong>have changed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s almost impossible to get people to say \u201cyes\u201d and hand over money for your PT services immediately.<\/p>\n<p>When stats suggest that <em><strong>just 3% of the population are confident enough and ready to buy now<\/strong> <\/em>&#8211; the key for you is to build a relationship and develop trust with your Marketing messages, to help people make better decisions.<\/p>\n<p>So how can you begin to do this?<\/p>\n<h2>#8 Give Away Free Information<\/h2>\n<p>For small businesses like you and I, providing people with MORE information to help them make better decisions, faster, is the ONLY way to win.<\/p>\n<p>Because of TRUST issues, it\u2019s much easier (and smarter!), to advertise helpful information than it is to ask people to buy from you immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Putting out an ad that says something like:<strong><em> \u201cBack pain evaluation &#8211; call today\u201d<\/em> <\/strong>will waste the attention of 9 out of 10 people and your precious dollars.<\/p>\n<p>But offer free information as a solution to their problem, and you\u2019ll be helping people to confidently say YES to PT services, and get back to living the life they deserve!<\/p>\n<h2>#9 Adopt The Strategy Of Pre-Eminence<\/h2>\n<p>What do I mean by this?
