So the plane has just touched down on my flight from LAX\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026I\u2019ve spent the last 7 days meeting and working with some of the USA\u2019s best and most successful physical therapy owners in Los Angeles and Detroit.<\/p>\n

I have LOTS I could share about what I learned\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and over the next few days, I plan to.<\/p>\n

I think I\u2019ll start with this from \u201cJason Han\u201d<\/strong> of “Health Fit”, Pasadena (Ca):<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPaul, after what you told us on a recent coaching call, we changed the form on our Website from \u201cask the PT a question\u201d – to a form that is multiple choice and lets the patient self select the answers. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Before the change, we were maybe getting \u201c1\u201d inquiry per week from our website – since the change, we are regularly getting “5” or “6” people from it each week\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to believe such a simple change could make such a big difference\u2026<\/p>\n

But when you REALLY think about it\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026these results are not surprising.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s why:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ever been to an event, seminar or on a webinar and had the chance to \u201cask a question\u201d of the speaker\/teacher??<\/p>\n

I bet you have – and I bet you didn\u2019t ask one!<\/p>\n

Because very few people do\u2026<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been in seminar halls with some of the most successful business people on the planet – and when the invitation comes to \u201cask a question\u201d at the end of the keynote, hardly anyone gets up to ask one!<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because in that moment, most of the audience have no clue what to ask\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026sometimes it\u2019s a case of:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat if I ask a dumb question\u201d\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2026but mostly, it\u2019s just because they\u2019re unable to think of a question that they want to know the answer to in the context of the situation.<\/p>\n

(Brain freeze at its best!)<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s the same with your patients\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026it\u2019s not that they don\u2019t want to ask you a question, they just don\u2019t know what they CAN ask, or TO ask, to get the inquiry started.<\/p>\n

Think about being in the treatment room:<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you have any <\/strong><\/em>
\nquestions for me\u2026?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

They mostly say NO, yet how many get home later that same night and think:<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish I\u2019d asked about this or that\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A LOT, if not most.<\/p>\n

So what\u2019s the moral of todays lesson?<\/p>\n

Success in business is a lot easier than most people will have you believe\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026view your business through the eyes of your patients\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2026obsess over THEM, and how they think and act – and not about whether your this type of clinic, or that type of clinic, finding any and every excuse to disclude your self from this type of stuff working for you.<\/p>\n

The \u201cgold\u201d in the NEW health-care economy is being delivered in a TRUCK via a BOAT to the clinic owner who helps their consumer to make easier and better decisions. <\/strong><\/p>\n

(And so it should!)<\/p>\n

What\u2019s even more pleasing about \u201cJason Han\u2019s\u201d story is that because of the increase in the number of inquires he\u2019s got through his new website\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026we were able to raise his prices!<\/p>\n

When you have more demand for your services, you can charge more.<\/p>\n

As a result\u2026<\/p>\n

He\u2019s now charging what he\u2019s worth\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026patients get the great health care they want\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026and everyone is happy EXCEPT the PT’s at the head of the \u201cold-boys club”, petulantly whinging and moaning on Twitter at the weekend about PT\u2019s \u201cselling their services\u201d, in an attempt to be more successful\u2026<\/p>\n

While those guys continue to look for cook-books and new recipes to feed the faces of the doctors they \u201csell themself SHORT to\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026we\u2019re all building our own \u201csuccess club\u201d with a new way to serve people better – and happy to sell the VALUE of what we do, to get what we want:<\/p>\n

\u201cA successful business that<\/em><\/strong>
\nmakes a lot of people better\u201d.<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n
